Eco-friendly Development

Ellridgehill is a set within the heart of the village of Elsrickle and enjoying the benefit of a small community woodland with grass walks.

The design and layout is the result of many hours of planning involving a wider design-team in an effort to create an environment symbiotic with 21st Century rural living.

Elsrickle is partially ‘off-grid’. The developer has considered the design and practicalities of eco-living and whilst passive-house standards have been considered, the pit-falls that total passive-house living have been avoided. First and foremost is an unsurpassable standard of thermal insulation and construction management to maintain high standards of air-tightness and building-efficiency. Coupling this with underfloor heating using air-source heat-pumps and solar panels, cost effective living is guaranteed. Other life-style values include rain-water harvesting and the focal point created by a multifuel stove in each principle living area.

The houses themselves will be bright and airy with flexible layouts on two floors. Every house has a utility room, ground floor shower room and a canopy at the front door – there are private terraces and fenced rear gardens.to-‘Some plots benefit from a single garage (subject to a revision to the consents) whilst the others will each have a garden & log store. The design is themed to maintain continuity yet each plot offers an individual solution.

Plots 5-10 are currently under construction. Each house benefits from off-street parking and has a secluded rear garden. Paths and parking have been designed so as social distancing can be maintained, and certain homes have the benefit of wash stations at both entrances.

Plots 12-20 will contain a variety of two and three-bedroom houses each again with gardens and private In-cartilage parking. Plots 16 – 20 have an enhanced width which results in slightly larger room-sizes than otherwise possible.
